I'm a Junior at Souderton Area High School, where I am playing attack on the Varsity lacrosse team for my third year. I was a starter my Sophomore year and will start again this year. As a Sophomore I was the leading point and goal scorer for the team and I broke the school record for most goals scored in one game. This year I have the honor of being chosen Captain of the team. My goals as Captain are for our team to make the playoffs, and also to bring the team together as a cohesive unit.
Although much of my time is spent practicing and playing lacrosse, I am also a good student with a B+ average. I have taken both honors classes and AP classes and will take more my Senior year. I was selected by teachers as Student of the Month and was chosen to be part of United Pack in middle school. United Pack was a group of students that helped acclimate incoming students through social activites. In high school I was chosen to be a part of the Athletic Leadership Council, which is a group of student athletes that are taught leadership skills that are then used with their team. I was also one of five students from Souderton chosen to attend the ROTC Ethics and Leadership Seminar at the Valley Forge Military Academy. Lastly, I was chosen to be a part of the Superintendents Focus Group for the district. I have been part of the Student Government for three years and will continue with that next year. I am also a buddy for Special Olympics which is held at the high school each year. I helped to start INC. at Souderton. INC is an organization that works to include the Life Skills students at the school. I have also participated in FBLA.
Outside of school I have helped with our local community lacrosse league by coaching at various skills and drill sessions. I am a member of Fantastic Friends, Suburban Philadelphia Chapter. Fantastic Friends is an organization that brings together special needs kids with typical kids for social gatherings. I have also volunteered at Food Pantries at the holidays.
While in college I wish to continue being a succesful, hardworking student. I also plan to continue working with special needs students and adults. I am a very focused individual that is willing to put whatever time is necessary into my lacrosse game in order to contribute to the team the best I can.
