Mike Davis '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Mike Davis. I am 6’1, 185 pounds. I am a Junior and will graduate from Canon-McMillan School District in 2018, located in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania (south of Pittsburgh). I have been playing lacrosse for 6 years and I have been in love with the game since day one. I am a two year lettermen, starting varsity goalie, and a team captain. My sophomore year I recorded 176 saves, which is a school record for most saves in a regular season. My save percentage was 65%,  allowing 5.2 goals per game and saving an average of 9.8  shots per game.  My most outstanding game was during my freshman year, at the varsity level against our rival, Peters Township, where I set another school record; 21 saves (out of 30 shots) in a game. I also hold my school's record for most saves in a career, which I am still building on. Being a goalie is my passion, it has made me a better student, athlete, and person. My teammates are my family and we play for each other, not just for ourselves. I believe this is why we won our school’s first section title during my freshman year, we built upon that by doing it again this season. Being a good student is the most important quality, but I am also very coachable and I believe this all stems from having a great attitude. I am the starting goalie for Pittsburgh Select Lacrosse varsity team, so I always have my stick in my hand. When I am not practicing or studying, I’m in the gym training. I look forward to the recruiting process and finding a suitable college that will help me improve academically as well as on the field.
