Lacrosse is my passion ever since I started playing in 5th grade for our local youth team. Once I started in the goal, I just knew that was my "spot" on the field. My youth coach began shooting on me with some pretty hard shots and he commented to me, "If you can stop my shots, you'll be set!" Ever since then, I have always tried to improve myself as a goalie. I started working with a goalie coach Steve Nims who was an two time All American goalie, played for Syracuse University and The Navy. He has helped me better my positions and tweak every move I make to be a better player. I also have worked with my brother's youth team. I have helped coach some new goalies by trying to show them the basics and teach them what I have learned over the years. I really have enjoyed working with these kids and I can see how they look up to me. I always encourage them to give 100% all the time. Some of them have been able to come watch me play in the varsity games which is good so they can see me in action and then take what I've taught them and use it in their own game. I'm always looking for camps that can better my skills. I recently got to work with John Galloway with the Rochester Rattlers and he told me that I was definitely have what it takes to go to the next level.
I'm not only a lacrosse player, I am also active in my local Boy Scout Troop as a Life Scout. I am currently working on my Eagle Project and plan on becoming an Eagle Scout by the fall of 2017. This has been quite a commitment with sports and school, but I have stuck with it and my parents have always been there supporting me. I also play the saxophone in our school concert band, the baritone sax in our school jazz band, as well as playing the bass guitar in my friends band (also known as the basement!). I do enjoy music which helps me prepare myself for life and those intense lacrosse games.
I aspire to be an excellent lacrosse player as well as excel in my studies in school. I look forward to college life with my classes and learning more about the forensic science field. I'm excited to be part of a lacrosse team where I can build lasting friendships and continue becoming a better player. I'm dedicated and will always give that 110% needed.
