Going 14 and 2 my sophomore year has been the highlight of my high school career so far. That year I was hoping to get pulled up for varsity but I didn't make the cut. I was disappointed, but that only made me work harder in the off season to become a better lacrosse player so I can start on varsity next year. During the fall of my sophomore year I competed for a position on the roster for the Northeast FCA team. There were two teams to make, The 2018 team or the combined 2018-2019 team. During my tryout, I thought I was doing very well and thought I had a great chance of making the team. Waiting for the e-mail to see which team I was on, if any, was very difficult. When I got the e-mail that I had made the 2018 team , I was so excited to be on the more elite of the two teams. During the fall and summer season, We participated in six tournaments total, And were very competitive in all of them.
Lacrosse has really given me a new outlook on life. My parents have been the biggest influence in my lacrosse career. They always give me the opportunities to become a better lacrosse player and to exceed at something I love. When I was 7 years old, I started playing lacrosse. I had started with baseball at the age of 4, but as the years went on I grew in to a physical player, and found lacrosse to be the sport I loved. The sport of lacrosse has shown me that I am a leader not a follower, I am aggressive not passive, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve the best of my abilities. School has never been my favorite thing until I was in high school. As soon as I entered high school it became fun, and I was no longer bored or mad about being at school. I started to earn better grades and enjoying myself because these are the years of my life I am going to miss later. Through my high school career I am striving to have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Last year I was a 3.35 but I know I can do better. In college I want to take Bio Chemistry. Playing lacrosse took some tolls on me also. I was a bigger kid when I was younger and running around the field was difficult for me, I went on a strict diet about two years ago. I have lost a good amount of weight and this has made me a better lacrosse player. For my size, I am much faster than people give me credit for. I am also more agile than people think. I have the ability to become an outstanding lacrosse player, and while I know it takes hard work year round, I have been willing and will continue to be willing to do the work in order to achieve the goals I have set for myself.
