Hi, my name is Nathan Andrew Korutz, I am a 17 yr. old 6'1'' 200 lb. senior at Johnson City Senior High School in Johnson City, NY. I am a strong, fast, and dedicated young student athlete. I have been timed at 4.58 in the 40 yard dash. I currently bench press 315 lbs. and squat 375 lbs. Sports have been a big part of my life. I first started playing organized lacrosse, football and basketball when I was 5 years old. Throughout the years I have watched many sporting events being played at my favorite colleges on television and dreamed of being there myself some day. My biggest dream is to go to college to get a quality education and play lacrosse. I have dedicated myself to work hard everyday at my schoolwork and athletics to achieve this dream. I have been voted team captain of my lacrosse team for the last 4 years and football team last year. I am a starting midfielder for the Johnson City Wildcats varsity lacrosse team. I also play attack and defense when needed. I am a running back and defensive end/linebacker on the varsity football team. I have played on the varsity lacrosse team since I was a freshman and varsity football team since I was a sophmore. I work and train very hard during practice and on my own. For example, when we run suicides or do laps around our school field/complex, I am always first or second to finish on my team. I go to the gym and lift weights three days a week after school and run 2 to 3 miles the other three days, Whenever possible I take a bucket of balls and go to the school and shoot 75 to 100 balls at the net/cage. When we are losing in a game, I try to lead my team to victory by being positive, cheering on my teamates and working extra hard, digging down deep to do whatever it takes to help us come out with a victory. I would love to go to any college where I could get a quality education and that has a lacrosse program. Whatever school I get to go to and play at is going to get 100% from me in the classroom and on the field. I know that I have a lot of hard work to do in school and lacrosse to get to that next level of education and lacrosse. I play lacrosse year round. In the spring for the school team, summer and winter leagues, travel lacrosse and many tournaments. In the summer of 2010 and 2012, I tried out for the NY State "Nike" Upstate Rising Stars lacrosse team. Over 80 players tried out both years. I was one of the 20 players chosen to play on the Section #4 team after a two day tryout. This past June I was selected to go the the Elite 205 Lacrosse Camp in Maryland and had a great experience playing with some of the best players from all around the country. I recently played (11/13/11) in a tournament sponsored by the State University of New York at Binghamton (Bearcats) where I scored three goals in a game against a team from Marcellus. I also scored a goal in the last minute of the game that sent the game into overtime against a team from Finger Lakes. My goal in education is to go to college and get a quality education, a degree in Criminal Justice and to have a successful career in Law Enforcement after I graduate. I want to become a State Trooper or work for a US Government Law Enforcement agency. My family has a history of being successful in sports. My uncle was a All-American football player at the University of Dayton where he played center and linebacker. He was drafted by the San Fransico 49ers and played center. My father also played football at East Stroudsburg State College and SUNY Albany. One of my goals this lacrosse season is to lead my team to a winning season, win a section title and go to the State Playoffs which we did for the first time in our school's history I also want to lead my team in points, have at least 25 assists and 35 goals. My educational goal this year is to maintain a high enough GPA to recieve Honor Roll status. It has always been my dream to go to a college and get a quality education and to also have some fun playing the game I love which is lacrosse. I want to achieve these goals and dreams because I want to make my family, my team, my coaches, and my school proud of me and most of all to become a successful professional person.
