My name is Kyle Blazo, I am a junior at the Hicksville High School on Long Island in New York. I first picked up a lacrosse stick back in 7th grade. I tried out for the team, and got cut. Everybody made fun of me, from sarcastic comments in the hallways all the way to Facebook groups about me online. I put all the anger aside, and used it as motivation. That summer I attended a few camps, learned the game much more, and fell in love with it. Fast foward to 8th grade.... People could not believe how much I improved. That season I was the #2 kid for my position, right behind the coaches son, and I was awarded most improved. Every single day I saw the 7th grade coach he would come up to me and say "im proud of you". I went from being the least experenced on the field to one of the best on the team. The next summer I did every thing I possibly could to improve. I made my first club team, the Long Island Jesters, and I was a starter on the Hicksville HS JV team, and I was one of the top scorers. The summer of 9th grade I was exposed to so much lacrosse, and that showed big time in my 10th grade season. I was captain of the team, the starting guy on the wing, and the leading scorer. I know what I have to do to be great, and I am taking every step in that direction. Besides the lacrosse field, I am currently on the principals list for school, and I am also the captain of the Hicksville Fire Department Juniors.
