Stephen Burke '13 Recruiting Profile

     I am a 6' 2", left handed, defenseman and long stick midfielder at Moorestown HIgh School, NJ. I will graduate in the 2013 class. As a freshman, I had the great experience of being one of only two freshman to get to play with the Varsity squad.  Last spring I have had the chance to earn my second varsity letter and did get to start several games at LSM and played close defense as well. Our team won the State Championship!
This school year I played both LSM and close defense again on a team that earned the #1 seed in the playoffs.
     The last two summers, I have played with the Tri-State Allstars and my high school team, Quake at both close defense and LSM.  I was also chosen to play in the Garden State Challenge games and represented my region as a starting defender on South Team # 3.
This summer I look forward to playing a competitive AA schedule with Tri-State Allstars again and attending the Under Armour NJ tryouts and the National Invitational 175.      I have had success at several sports, but nothing excites me more than the competitive nature of lacrosse, the challenge of playing close defense and the special camaraderie shared with my teammates.  As far as other sports, I run cross country to increase my endurance and have played  basketball keeping my defensive footwork sharp. I am looking forward to helping my high school team work towards an other state championship next year and remain involved in summer and fall tournaments and recruiting camps. I have approximately a 3.6 GPA.  I have been named a Scholar Athlete by my school for the last two years. I am still undecided on a major of study in college, but know that I want to find a school that is academically strong and offers the chance to play competitive lacrosse. I am open to explore opportunities at all divisions.
