My name is Tyler Grant and I am preparing for a Post-Grad year at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH before entering college in 2018. I am a 5'11", 175 lbs, lefty face-off midfielder. I am very passionate about lacrosse and enjoy the camaraderie of the team and working hard to constantly improve my game. Recently, my coach said, "Tyler is one of the most focused lacrosse players I have ever coached. His work ethic and attention to detail are second to none, and that’s why he has had so much success this year." I finished my Londonderry HS career with an 85% lifetime winning percentage in the face-off X, was named First Team All State and a Brine High School All American.
I am especially proud of my academic success, given that I have had to overcome a learning disability to accomplish it. While my grades have been good, my course selections during my freshman and sophomore years did not meet the NCAA requirements. During my junior and senior years, I pushed the school to enroll me in NCAA eligible classes and proved I could succeed at that level. This year at Brewster Academy will help to ensure my academic success in college, which will then ensure that I am able to be successful on the field. While it has been difficult, this challenge has taught me about perseverance, mental toughness and the work ethic needed to achieve my goals. I have also found that my different learning style helps me explain things to my teammates in a different way, which has help me grow as a leader. I plan to earn a Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing and would like to build a career either designing or selling lacrosse equipment. I hope to earn a spot on a lacrosse team with a competitive program.
