John (Jack) Manion '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jack Manion. I am a senior graduating from Benet Academy in 2011. My defensive mentality has been described by my coaches as "relentless" and "intimidating," and I was honored to be recognized as my travel team's Most Valuable Defenseman. Although I have only been playing lacrosse since freshman year, I am in love with the sport and believe I have what it takes to play at the collegiate level. Coach Paul Stolzer, head of the New Wave Lacrosse program, said, "(Jack's) attitude is exceptional and he is a very hard worker who is always eager to learn. He's the kind of kid that every coach likes having around." The head coach of my traveling team this summer, Coach Andy Thompson, said, "there is definitely a spot for Jack to play in college. Jack is skilled and more importantly he is coachable and has a great attitude." In school, I earned a 33 composite score on my ACT, and a 2020 on my SAT. I am a Commended National Merit Scholar and I am looking for a school that will challenge me academically as well as athletically.
