Albert Abaunza '11 Recruiting Profile

I'm a 5'11" Hockey Player from Rockaway NJ. I'm currently doing a PG year at Rice Memorial Prep in South Burlington Vermont and play for their Prep Hockey Team where I was selected Asst Captain of the team in my first year with the program. The team competes in the New England Fall Prep Hockey League and is currently 21-2. I currently have 16 goals and 6 assists in 23 games this season. I was also a four year starter for Morris Knolls High School in New Jersey, which is one of the top public programs in the New Jersey. During my senior year I was chosen Captain of the varsity squad and last year Morris Knolls was the top ranked public school in the state for most of the season. I earned 1st Team Honors as a Senior. I've played AAA Hockey since Pee Wee and played with and against all the best players in PA/NJ including many D1 players. I also played some games at the JR B level following my Devils season and made a immediate impact on the team scoring 8 goals and 2 assist in just 10 games. My goal is to play competitive collegiate athletics and am open to explore opportunities at the NCAA D1/D3 division level. I am looking for a school where I can pusue a degree in Business while also playing highly competitive Ice Hockey. The NJ Devils Youth Hockey organization which was my travel team has produced several outstanding collegiate players and I feel I can follow in their footsteps. I feel I bring terrific leadership skills which my former and current coaches can attest to, that could hopefully benefit some collegiate program.
