Dear coaches,
my name is Daniel Tkac and I am currently a sophomore at Bishop Canevin High School in Pittsburgh, PA. I have a very strong interest in pursuing hockey at the college level where I am looking to represent an institution with a reputation for excellence in academics and athletics with development students'/players' ability to the next level.
I have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and good study habits in the classroom and on the ice. I love to compete and work hard on my game all year-round. This can contribute to future success.
I have played hockey at the varsity level since my freshman year. My scoring average has increased each year in high school and in my AAA club team. I am the starting forward on my high school team and have led them in goals scored for the past two years in 2016 PIHL league playoffs and this year team's scoring points. During my freshman year last season, we won Penguins Cup championship the highly competitive PIHL League for the 8th time in team's history, and I believe I played an integral role in the team’s success. I was named Honorable player, as a freshman who led our team to playoffs. By coaches I am considered to have excellent vision and strong technical and skating skills, which helped us to create many scoring opportunities during the year. As we started our current high school season, I am working hard at being a leader on and off the ice, as I feel I have matured as a player and a person during my recent hockey season.
Furthermore, I have been playing for the past 2 seasons also for my club team, Esmark Stars AAA U16. I have been playing at the AAA level since U-10. In 2013, I advanced to study abroad in Europe for 2 years as a international exchange student where I continued to play high level hockey. Studying different languages, traveling throughout Europe and experiencing various hockey coaches helped me tremendously to my development where I am today.
I am excited to move forward in the recruiting process to learn more about opportunities and look forward to speaking with you.
Daniel Tkac
