Kane Sander '22 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I began playing tournaments at Notre Dame, University of Wisconsin and the University of Miami - Ohio, I knew that this was what I wanted to do.  Like every player, I want to be the best that I can be.  But it's more important to be the best person I can be.  To me, hockey is completely different than other team sports.  To play hockey, takes courage and discipline.  It teaches you that your mind quits before your body, and that you must master that to be successful.  I believe that hockey teaches the old adage that hard work, sacrifice and discipline are the keys to personal growth and are rewards in and of themselves.  Hockey is truly a team game.  Of all the friends that I have, I still prefer to hang around my friends whom I have played hockey with, because we have battled and grown together.  I believe that I can make any team better, not because I'm more skilled, but because I believe that to be a true leader, one must teach and encourage someone to the point that they eventually pass you in both knowledge and ability.
