Personal Statement

My name is Anthony Doucette from Millbury MA, a suburban town 40 miles outside of Boston.  I have one sister, Adreanna age 11, who also plays hockey.  As soon as we both could walk our dad had us on skates.  My mom was never into hockey. Little did she know back then what a hockey junkie she'd turn into watching us grow into a sport we all love.

In my earlier years my mom loved watching us learning to skate on a cone.  She never thought we'd ever "get it".  Well, all these years later she lights up when she watches us play.  It's the love of the speed, the intensity, the scoring and more importantly the physicality of the game. My mom always says be safe, head up, you hit as hard as you can because the guy hitting you is going to do the same thing, which resonates in my head before every game.

Today I am 15 years old, 6'1 and 215lbs.  I am a solid left handed defensive man.  My skating agility both front and back is second to none of guys my size.  My hitting ability is strong and methodical.  Protection of my goalie is a main focus.  I continue to work on my stick handling and speed which will always be areas of focus of growth.  I am a team player because its never about me its about my team.  I have the utmost respect for every coach I've every had because they want me to succeed and I respect the time they take every day to work with me.

I previously played Varsity hockey as a freshman with St. Peter-Marian in Worcester, MA (D1). On Aug. 2017 I was recruited by the Northern Cyclones, Tier 1 National Hockey League, Hudson NH (EJEPL/USPHL).  I love the comradery  of my team.  I love the intensity.  My teammates are from all over the country and its been a great season so far and an awesome experience that I hope to continue until college.

I am a man of few words. I am very quiet and I pride myself on the respectfulness that I have been taught by my parents.  I aspire to be a great son and brother, a good person and a phenomenal hockey player.  Plus i'd love to be able to help my parents financially pay for college... Dental school isn't cheap.

If there is anything else i can tell you about myself that would differentiate me from other recruits is the fact that I am dedicated to a sport I love. I will work harder, skate faster, hit stronger.  I will make you proud you picked me because I'll be just as proud playing for a team that also respects me as much as I do them.
