NCAA Division 3 could be the perfect fit for student-athletes who want a more traditional college experience where they can pursue their academic ambitions, as well as their sport. Made up of mostly smaller, private institutions, Division 3 golf schools are known for their prestigious academics and well-balanced schedules. Even more, Division 3 offers impressive competitive opportunities—the top 100 golfers in Division 3 currently have an average golf score of 75 or lower.
With 304 schools, Division 3 has more men’s golf colleges than any other division. Even though this level can’t offer recruits athletic scholarships, they can provide financial packages that significantly cut costs. Coaches work with the admissions department to offer recruits financial aid in the form of grants, academic scholarships, need-based aid and merit-based scholarships. These financial packages can be especially appealing to student-athletes with high test scores and an excellent GPA.
