My name is John Foley, I am 17 years old and a junior at Spring-Ford High School. I live in Limerick Pennsylvania with my parents and younger sister. I have been playing golf and taking lessons since I was 6 years old and currently have +.8 USGA handicap and scoring average of 74.
My home course is Spring Ford country club but most of my summer I play in competitive tournaments with the AJGA, IJGT, PGA Jr Series, and other qualifying tournaments such as the PA Open.
Some of my summer highlights over the past few years have been being selected by the IJGT when I was 14 years old to play for their USA team in the Euro Cup played in St. Andrews, Scotland. Wining my club championship at the age of 15. I was the youngest player to win the championship in the club’s 88 year history. This past summer I Qualified to play in the Pennsylvania Open. I qualified at Whitford CC with a score of 73.
I have played varsity for my high school team the past 3 years. I played in the #2 spot my freshman year and the #1 spot for the past two years. I have had the lowest scoring average and qualified for the District tournament all three years. This past year I made it to the state championship and came in 18th place with scores of 82-75. I had the 9 hole lowest score of the tournament (33) on the back 9 of the 2nd day.
