Personal Statement

My name is Gunnar Riley and I am currently a Junior at Charleroi High School. I am looking to further my education in either the business field or the sports management field. I am 6 foot and weigh 155 pounds. So far throughout high school I have started all three years as the number one golfer. I was honored to be selected as an all-section golfer my freshman and sophmore year in the Section 2 Division 2 team. I also compete in the Southwest Pennsylvania Junior Golf Tour and also in the King's/Tri-State PGA Junior Golf Tour. If I were to play golf in college I would be able to offer my team hard work and dedication. Anything a teammate needs I can help out in aiding him or her. I have a tough competitive drive to be the best that I can be. I would like to attend school in the south eastern part of the United States because golf there is just nicer due to the fact that it is sunny and warm all year. Since I live in the Pittsburgh area, golf here is limited because of the harsh winter months. Also the competition down south is higher because people do play all year. I do not have a preference to the size of school I attend. I am there for the reason to learn and better myself as a person and therefore size does not matter. I would prefer a school that has a great academic reputation because that is what is most important in life. My family works hard and earns there paychecks, but even the hardest working people need a little bit of help with money. Student loans will be needed, but not many. If I had to choose one major it would be an occupation in the business field. Also I have an interest in sports management. In all honesty, just playing at all in the collegiate level is what I want to do. Being a freshman walk on or something along those lines is just a bonus. I have the confidence in my abilities to make the varsity team one of my four years. I know I can impact the team if I get a chance to play, just getting that one shot at doing it is all I need.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
