Personal Statement

Ever since I was young I have wanted to take golf to the next level. It's like a family tradition, going out and playing nine or eighteen holes, it brings you closer together and it's enjoyable at any age. I have set many goals, my main goal is to play Division I or Division II college golf and then see where my golf career takes me. I understand it takes hard work and mental toughness which are traits I have. I want to take those traits and talents into the college level. Being involved with golf has taught me a lot and I will always continue to play it. I have enjoyed it and I would like to continue doing what I love on and off the course. From helping out with local camps with the pros, to local tournaments, and being associated with high school golf the competition and experience is fantastic. I have been around the game of golf for awhile and I currently work at Shady Hollow Country Club. I have learned a lot from the club's head and assistant pro. I have also learned a lot from my fellow worker Jon Clark who played for Malone University and graduated in 2013. Jon taught me a lot about the game and college golf. He told me about the responsibilities and and commitment and I understand it and am ready for it. Outside of golf my goals are to enhance my education by going into dental school then becoming an orthodontist. Whatever path I choose I will proceed to do to the best of my abilities.

On August 6th, the Washington High School golf team opened the season at the Tiger Invitational at Sable Creek Golf Course. The team played well in the opening event. Paul Ryee shot a 75, which was good enough for the best individual score in the tournament.

In their inaugural appearance, the Northern Ohio PGA Junior Tours Team captured the Joe Haase Cup. The 16th Annual Joe Haase Cup was held at Firestone Country Club on Sunday, May 11th. The 350 attendees celebrated Mother’s Day with a morning brunch. The Northern Ohio PGA team pulled off an exciting win as first time participants in the annual event. Congratulations to the entire team…well done! Team Members: Blake Prince, Luke Liberatore, Cody Tuttle, Michael Maroon, Mark Schlabach, Patrick Steffan, Jacob Zbin, Daniel Mosher, Zak Supelak, Jared Wilson, Ken Keller, Paul Ryee, Nick Wilson, Will Kurtz, Jason Kopco, Paul Harris, Cole Christman, Favian Busnawi, Kelly Nielsen, Kasey Nielsen, Chloe McKinzie, Gabby Minor, Jennifer Wang, Kory Neilsen. I won my match up two strokes with 3 to play. Match play settings on Firestone West and North courses. I played the west course that day.
