Benjamin Travers '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches, I appreciate you checking out my profile. My name is Ben, I am a 23 year old who aspires to play college golf and I feel that I have the confidence and natural ability to succeed with the right people. I am currently enrolled in college here in New York that does not have a golf team but I do have credits to be completed in order for me to get my degree so this has allowed me the potential to play college athletics elsewhere. I grew up playing basketball first at the age of 2. Throughout my childhood I was always active and playing various sports but I excelled with basketball and football which transferred into high school. I didn't pick up a golf club until 2011 which I soon realized was the big hole missing in my athletic career since losing the passion to play collegiate basketball or football. Since that time I have worked tirelessly on the game without lessons or coaches because the movements of the swing felt natural and I knew it was just something I needed to tame. Fast forward four years and I have become a mid to high 70s golfer with the real potential to shoot low 70s consistently. I do not have official tournament play and I realize this may affect my consideration but I have been training with a private Golf Professional the last few months and he has erased any doubt I used to have about this being a wise decision or not. I appreciate your consideration and I will not disappoint your program.
