Through two years of golf at Cicero North Syracuse High School, I have gained emotional and physical growth that i will carry with me for years to come. Focusing on success in my school studies and outside interests, including my love for golf, has given me the motivation and strength to embark on an exceptional college experience.
I began taking part in athletics as early as three years old. I played soccer, basketball, and baseball. In seventh grade, a friend took me golfing for the first time and at that time, I realized that the golf course was where I needed to be. Having to tell my coach and teammates of five years that I was no longer going to play soccer was very difficult. There was no hesitation, though. I new that I was making the right choice and it was the best decision that I could ever have made. My golf game has taught me to keep my head up when things are going wrong and to concentrate on improving what lies ahead.
Off the golf course, I have had great opportunities in the community. My parents have taught my brother and I that working makes you a responsible person. I worked at a grocery store and over the summer I work at a golf course cleaning clubs, carts, and also helping caddy some of the individuals at the club. Currently I work at the YMCA with special needs individuals. This job has taught me to never take life for granted and to appreciate good health.
My future success in school, golf, and life is a work in progress. My job experiences have taught me time management and leadership qualities that are needed on the golf course.Teammates offer support and friendship that is necessary to reach future goals. My plan is to find a college that includes a strong business and golf program.
