John Sommers '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is John Sommers and i am a 6'0' golfer from Galloway, NJ and attend Holy Spirit High School of Absecon, NJ. I began playing golf competively as a Freshman when most kids start playing when they are 9yrs old. I was a starter in the number #3 postion in my first year playing. I did not play tournament golf that summer because i did not know it was important. My sophmore year i was #2 on the team and was Cape Atlantic League and Press of Atlantic City honorable mention with a 9 hole average of 42.3. My coach than suggested i played for a junior tour during the summer and played for the JGA of America and averaged 87.7 and also started working with a golf instructor, John Petronis. During my junior year of golf i averaged 38.5 was first team all Cape Atlantic League, Press of Atlantic City, and South Jersey Non Public Group B. I also qualified for the Tournament of Champions. I also have played 3 years Varsity Basketball and one year of Varsity Football. I can Dunk a basketball and am very athletic. I am interested in schools closer to the East Coast but am not ruling out any other schools.
