John Veno '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is John Veno and I am a Sophmore at Bishop Feehan High School. Our Golf team is very successful this fall in 2017.  On a more personal note, I am a member of the New England PGA Junior tour. This past summer (2017) I played in 6 NEPGA junior events. I placed second at Shaker Hills in Harvard and third at Pawtucket CC. The highlight of this past summer was getting a chance to play in the Massachusetts Junior Amatuer Championship at The Orchards Course in South Hadley, MA. This experience made me a better golfer because I got to go out and compete with some of the best golfers in Massachusetts. For High School golf this Fall I am the 4 golfer behind 3 seniors. So my chances for captain as a Junior are very high. This year I have lowered my handicap by 5 strokes. I am very excited to jump into the recruiting process as soon as possible.  I am a good Student Athlete as well. I know that good grades will always come before golf and that getting good grades is important to the recruiting process. I am in honors classes and get As and Bs most of the time. All of my peers look up to me as a leader and they count on me as a teammate to help them and support them. I am not sure where i want to go to school yet. As of now, anywhere in New England or somewhere warm would be great. As of now I feel that I am a Division 2-3 athlete. It is my goal and dream to play college golf and I will do anything to play. I play in many tournaments so I think that I have plentiful experience when it comes to pressure and competing.
