Hi Coaches,
I have always wanted to play on a college golf team. I hope to find a college where I can pursue my academic interests and play competitive golf. I have played the game for about eight years and played competitively for about four years. During past summers I went to overnight camp for four weeks and then scrambled to get my game back after not playing for a while. Being away made it hard to improve my game. This past summer of 2014 was the first summer I did not go to overnight camp and instead I chose to focus solely on my golf game. I practiced or played daily, took lessons regularly with my coach, played in numerous golf tournaments, and dropped around 4-5 strokes off my game...and this was just in one summer. I'm currently about to begin tournaments in the AJGA and MAJGT also USGA.
Over time I have learned, and continue to learn, what it takes to be a stronger student, a better golfer, and a person dedicated to improve in every way. I have grown and matured as a student with each semester, just as I continue to grow as a golfer. I know that to improve on anything in life takes commitment and dedication. One of the reasons I love golf is because I grew up around family and friends that played it all the time. I also believe that my character and sportsmanship on the golf course come from these important people in my life.
I am 100% committed to continuing to work hard on my game and my academics to achieve my goals. I would love the opportunity to play on a college golf team. Thank you for looking at my profile and allowing me to introduce myself to you.
