Tyler Roat '18 Recruiting Profile

My passion for golf began as a young boy when I was first introduced to the game by my grandfather and father.  Both were avid golfers and inspired my interest, which spurred my passion for the sport that has only grown over the years.  As I approach the time to pursue my college education, I want to continue playing golf at the collegiate level that would present me an opportunity to playing at a highly competitive level.  I have been playing golf for 7 years, as well as playing baseball for 9 years with an elite travel team, the Illinois Sparks.  In the Fall of 2015, I decided to quit baseball which has allowed me to play in tournaments and to pursue my dreams of playing golf in college as my ultimate goal.  My passion is to play and seek continuous improvement, if I am not playing I am practicing every day.  Throughout the winter months, I either practice in a dome or try to play outside in the cold.  I have demonstrated success not only on the course but in the classroom as well.
