Drew Heffley '12 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Drew Heffley. I am 6'2" 175 lbs and a Senior at Monticello High School, Monticello, Illinois. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give you a little background of my golf experience. I discovered my passion for golf the summer before my freshman year in high school, which I recognize is a late start. My freshman year I played on the JV team, but was able to play a few Varsity matches because my coach at the time saw potential in me. Since my freshman year I have worked hard to improve my game. I feel the strongest part of my game is my "short game". For the past three summers I have joined the local golf club as a junior member. The last two years I have come in 2nd in the Junior Tournament and this year 1st, that is held at the club. I know I share the passion of the game with many good young golfers, but I hope to have the opportunity to show you I would be an asset to your team through my college career. My Junior year I just missed out on going to the State Tournament by 1 stroke, but this year my Senior year not only did I make it to the State Tournament I finished 15th out of 111 in 2A. I also set 2 Records in my School Lowest stroke adverage as well as highest finish in a State Tournament. This last summer I really worked on all parts of my game and it showed I Medaled in most of my tournaments and the ones I didn't I was in the top 5 individuals.
