My name is Spencer Pattterson and I started golfing when I was 15 years old and have fallen in love with the sport. I have played baseball, at a very competitive level, along with football and basketball but when I started playing golf I knew this was the sport for me. Over the last two and half years I have focused solely on golf and my goal is to play college golf.
I have played in Jr. PGA events, Hurricane Jr., and AJGA events across the country. I finished in the top 10 of the Jr. PGA St. Louis in the summer of 2015. I finished in the top 10 at the Hurricane Jr. Tournament at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwer Canyon. I currently carry a +3.2 handicap. I played on my High School varsity golf team as a Junior and we placed 4th in the state of Illinois. I am a leader on and off of the course and love helping my teammates better themselves on the course and in the classroom.
Academically, I envision my college years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to graduate with a biology degree and recieve master's degree in Marine Biology. I currently carry a 3.60 GPA and recieved a 29 on my ACT. Academia is very important to me and I am trying to align myself with a great school that will challenge me both in the classroom and on the golf course.
As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college years, I will strive to be an asset on and off the golf course to my teammates and coaches. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
