Kyle Schulte '12 Recruiting Profile

I come from an athletic family, as my father played college sports. He was also in the golf business for 25 years. Ive been playing golf recreationally for six years, and competitively for 4 years. Some of my accomplishments include a Southwest Florida Junior Golf Association Player of the Year award, and my father and I won the Florida State Golf Association Parent/Child State Championship, I tied my high schools lowest round record for nine holes with a score of 32, as well as setting a county record of 4 under par for a rain shortened 5 hole match. As team captain, I helped lead us to the schools first District Championship and first undefeated season along with two consectutive trips to the Florida State Regional Golf Tournament.  I was named to the 1st Team ALL-AREA High School Golf Team. Being selected as one of the 5 best high school players in Southwest Florida, I am confident in my ability to play college golf. Due to family circumstances, I wasn't able to travel the state or country to play in ranked tournaments but, did play in as many local and regional tournaments as possible. As a student-athlete I know my responsabilities of being a student, and I understand the importance of good work ethic and what it takes to succeed. Playing golf at the college level has been my dream since my freshman year of high school. Whether it is a large Div.1 school, or a smaller NAIA school, the oppurtunity to play collegiate golf is what is most important to me.  It is my goal to have a career as a PGA Professional. Staying in Florida is not a priority to me, so Im very open to opportunities out of state.
