My name is Justin Wong and I am a competitive golfer. I started playing golf about 5 years ago when my aunt bought me a small golf set. That same day, I ended up going to three different driving ranges. From that time on, I knew golf was the sport for me. I've played many other sports as a child but I never felt the drive to follow through and compete, but when I was introduced to golf, I felt the motivation and drive to compete from day one and I knew that i wanted to play golf competitively which is why I set my first goal of never giving up and to try my best. To be honest, some tournaments I competed in, I did give up and I didn't always try my best. Throughout my golfing career it was honestly a struggle but I knew what needed to be done. My first 3 years of playing golf, I always thought it was all about my swing, but soon realized my mental game was the reason that I had struggled. The following 2 years of my golf experience shaped me into the golfer I am today. I have learned to change my mental stamina in order to reach my goal. My current goal is to trust myself and to play golf competitively in college. I know I am a great candidate for a college team because I am a very happy and supportive teammate. Going into the fourth year of my high school golf team, receiving MVP, and being part of many golf programs; I understand that if I play college golf, I wouldn't just be playing for myself but for my team. There are lots of other great golfers ou there, but most of them stay at the same skill level, while I, on the other hand am consistently improving. Golf is my life and I have a strong passion towards it. I will never stop competing until I reach my main goal of improving my golf game overall and to play golf competitively.
