Thomas Lozon '11 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Tommy Lozon. I am 5 ft. 7 in. tall and weight 133 lbs. I have been playing golf since I could walk. I graduate in 2011. I have played on the varsity team at Great Oak High School in southern CA. since my freshman year, a starter since my sophomore year. I average 75 a round and drive the ball on average 285 yds. I average about 1.7 putts a hole and am working hard on getting that down. This year, 2010 I made Southwestern All League MVP, as well as 1st Team All Southwest Riverside County. My team was Southwestern League Champions, as well as CIF Southern Section Champions. I shot a 72 at Southern Ca. Regionals where we finished 5th place. Last year 2009, we were also Southwestern and CIF Southern Section Champions. I shot a 73 at both team and regional finals. At the team finals I had low score on my team and 6th place over all. These scores where instrumental in moving our team to the state championship were we took 5th place. In 2009 I also received the Rickie 'Fowler Trophy' for lowest stroke average at VJGA, and received 'Player of the Year' in '07', '08', '09' there as well. I come from a modest middle class background. I am very coachable, and a hard working team player. I thrive in high pressure situations while playing. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges that playing on such a competitive team that GOHS has provided since I haven't been able to play in any AJGA events due to finances, though I hope to enter into a few this summer. I have played in a couple of Toyota Tour Cups, scoring 72 - 73 at Summerly, and 73 - 74 at Warner Springs. Consequently, the experience at GOHS has been invaluable. I can't wait to continue that competitive competition in college. I am partial to the west since my family lives here, but I am open to a different environment. I would enjoy most any type of school. My major will be in business, as I want to continue to pursue golf in some capacity, so I can receive a degree at most any college. I am looking forward to playing competitive golf my freshman year, and all the new challenges that college life will bring.
