Personal Statement

My parents are both educators and have taught me the importance of honesty and integrity in all aspects of life.  These characteristics have helped me be successful in school and competitive sports.  I have had experience in other sports as such as competition archery which stresses many of the same fundamentals as golf.  You have to have focus, relentlessly practice, and have determination in order to achieve success. I have had a very successful competition archery career and still compete occasionally.  It is a great release after golfing all week and just refines my mental focus as an athlete.

Every time I step on the golf course I have goals that I want to accomplish.  Most are short term goals but there are also long terms goals that I hope to achieve.  This year I hope to be in the top 6 in rankings at the College of the Desert Junior College in Palm Desert, California.  I also want to participate in accomplishing a state victory for the College of the Desert.

My future goals include earning an Associates Degree within two years and then transfer to a four year university and continue my college golf career there. As a student I work as hard as I can in the classroom, lead by example and achieve the academic goals I have set for for myself.

The past season of high school golf for me was one that was a season of great accomplishments but also the most growth in truly understanding how to play to the best of my ability. I have come to the realization that every time I play a round of golf, whether it be in competition or during practice, it is the misses that matter more then my best shots. I have learned to change my practice regimen to focus on consistency rather then the actual outcome of the shot. I hope to have great success in the future and continue my golf career.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
