Personal Statement

I graduated with honors from Centennial High School in June 2016 and have decided to take a gap year to work full-time on my game independently and with a Top 100 instructor, while continuing to play in tournaments.  I am looking to join a Division I program beginning in Fall 2017.

I have been competing in high school golf, SCPGA Junior Tour, Toyota Tour Cup, AJGA, SCGA and USGA.

I qualified to play in the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur at The Honors Club,  July 18-23, in Ooltewah, Tennessee.  In the 36-hole, one-day qualifier, I shot 75 in the first round and 67 in the second round for a total score of 142 and tied for 3rd.

I have been playing well so far this year, taking medalist at the Lions Invitational with a score of 70, and a second and third place finish in other high school preseason invitationals. I was medalist in all except one league match this high school season, and now hold my school's record for lowest average in it's 27-year history, and second lowest average in Big VIII League history.

On June 9, I finished tied 5th at the AJGA Ryan Moore Championship at Anthem Country Club in Henderson, NV, and earned exempt status for AJGA for the remainder of the year.

I finished 22nd in a competitive field at the AJGA Under Armour / Hunter Mahan Championship, Stonebriar Country Club, Frisco, TX in mid-April.   I had a 3rd Place finish at Toyota Tour Cup Carlton Oaks in March.

I played in the US Open local qualifier at Classic Club in Palm Springs, on May 16th, and finished as 2nd alternate, shooting even par on a difficult course in extreme wind.

September 10-11, 2016, T3 at The Corey Pavin Invitational (70-74-68), Indian Wells Golf Resort, Indian Wells

Upcoming:

October 7-9, 2016, AJGA Golf Performance Center Junior Championship, Redding Country Club, Redding, CT.
