Coming into high school, I have set some goals. Those goals are to keep playing golf, keep my GPA at a 4.0, get a college scholarship and make the top 5 on the high school golf team. Since I was 5 years old, golf has been my passion ad I am now 15 and still love the sport as much as I did before. Through these 10 years, I've learned a lot; not only about myself but to never get mad at the game, it does you no good, if you have strong mental game, that's more than half the battle on the golf course. I've gone through many obstacles, some mentally and some physically.
When I was about 14 years old, I wasn't playing the same golf I used to play, all because of me maturing. It took me a whole year to get back where I was mentally; I never thought I could do it. Me at 15 years old, throughout 10 years of playing, I have not had one lesson from any coach or any golf pro. I come from a very small town and it is difficult to go and practice; the Turquoise Valley Golf Course and RV is not a very successful golf course and financially they are barely making it. The practice facilities are not very effective and it's frustrating but that's all I have and I make do with what I got.
But with these circumstances, I manage and I'm able to shoot some good scores and compete in tournaments. I've been a straight "A" student all my life, I was Valedictorian my 8th grade year and I hope I can do the same my senior year. I'm looking for a college that will allow me to follow my studies as well as playing on the golf team. I know it takes a lot to make a college team but I believe I have what it takes to make it; I have the grades, the commitment, and the work ethic. I have the talent and the leadership to be on your team!
