Ryan McBride '13 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a 6'2" senior point guard at Brookfield East High School in Wisconsin.  I recently received All-Conference and All-Suburban Honors, second team, for the Greater Metro Conference, Division 1A.  Last season I received Honorable Mention All-Suburban and Honorable Mention All-Conference Honors for the Greater Metro Conference, Division 1A.  Since 3rd grade I have played AAU basketball. and throughout high school I played with Playground Elite, where we have had many successful tournaments, traveling all over the country. For the past two years, at Brookfield East, I have been the captain and a leader for our program - whether it's getting teammates to offseason workouts or being the "coach on the floor" during games. As a player I pride myself on defense and being unselfish on the offensive end, in order to create the best possible look for our team. I also believe I provide quickness, which allows me to push the tempo offensively and get by defenders. Right now, I am focusing on weightlifting and improving my pull-up jumper and have already made good strides in both areas. At this point, I am open to any schools that have my desired major of Political Science and that are affordable. My goal while playing in college is to get a quality education, while playing the sport I love, with others who share my passion. I don't expect to necessarily play my freshman year, but I would love to eventually earn an important role on the team.
