Jordan Davis '11 Recruiting Profile

Like most student athletes, I dream of playing in a national championship game and hope to hear my name called at the NBA draft. But I also have a passion for learning, a desire to earn a college degree and a dream to one day work in the field of sports medicine. In addition to being a 6'8 power forward/center (improving my skills at the wing), I am an honor student with a GPA of 3.0. So I am seeking a university that will not only allow me the opportunity to develop on the basketball court, but off the court as well. I am willing to give 100 percent to the team, so I expect the school and its staff to give the same back to me with the academic support needed to ensure my success. Aside from that, there is no real preference to school size or setting. As a player, I have been praised for my work ethic and I seek instruction on how I can get better from game to game. I am a consistent scorer from anywhere inside the 3 point line, but my true love is defense. I LOVE DEFENSE! During my junior year, I was the only underclassmen elected to the All- Defensive Team for the Virginia Preparatory League. I also earned First Team All-Virginia Prep and the St. Anne's Coaches Award. In 2009, I attended the Five-Star Camp in Farmville, Virginia, and was awarded the Five-Star Best Defensive Player and invited to participate in their All-Star Game. During the 2009-10 season, my averages were: 17 points-per-game (65% FG) (75% FT), 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. Off the court, I am generally considered the quiet guy. I love to read so, studying is not a problem. I enjoy people and I make friends easily, but am just as comfortable chilling alone. I don't smoke, drink or party excessively. I have a lot of family support and recognize their sacrifice in providing for my education. So I will come to school in shape, ready to play and focused on what I need to do on and off the court.
