I am very passionate about the game of basketball. I am a very confident and fierce competitor on the basketball court. I like to categorize myself as a team first (pass first) point guard but I know when to get my own buckets! My biggest asset is my leadership because even though I'm not the biggest man on the court I will always give you 110% heart. My dream is to play for a great program regardless of the division. Then, God-willing, s be able to play at the professional level overseas. I have learned over the last few years of how important it is to have goals that are balanced. I plan to use my interest in Biology, Business and Sports Management in a career to make a positive change in the world and my immediate community.
In high school, I maintained a 3.2 GPA. I've just completed my first basketball season at Newbury College and had a great learning experience. I'm am looking to continue my aspirations of carrying my leadership skills into the college environment. I have improved a great deal during last couple years of high school and now having played at the college level, I feel more confident in my ability to both learn, be a team player and grow as a leader. I have learned that the power of encouraging my teammates even when I'm not doing well is a fundamental part of leadership and can help unite a team.
Also, having been in a military school for 4 years for my high school years has helped me understand the importance of discipline, the seriousness of being on time, and being mentally and physically ready for life --- not just in basketball. The experience of living away from my family at such a young age makes me different than other student-athletes. I have faced and overcome many challenges and obstacles while at Valley Forge Military that I feel have taught me life lessons that will benefit me in the real world as well as the team/school I choose to attend. Having to learn to be disciplined in my academics as well as athletics has helped shape me into the young man I am now.
I am a Christian and firm believer in Jesus so I know that everything is possible through my faith in Him. I bring to my college experience this faith that helps keep me focused. As a student-athlete my faith has helped to keep me balanced so that I can strive for excellence both on and off the court. I think that this attitude can be a good fit for the right team.
