My name Is Darrius Phillips and basketball is my sport. I played football, basketball, and track my whole life. In football I played quarterback and strong safety. In track I do high jump, long jump, 400 meter relay, and 800 meter relay. Next year as a 9th grader I'm just going to focus on basketball and track. Basketball is the sport I want to go to college for. Without my grandparents I wouldn't be where I am today.
My grandpa Malcolm McFerren helps me with everything. He pushes me to be the best basketball player I can be. The best thing about me is I play point guard and shooting guard and I can rebound good. I can play the 1,2,3, and 4. I bring effort and hard work to the team, but one thing I focus on more than basketball is my grades. I have a 3.3 GPA all A's and B' .
I also like getting my teammates involved and making them better. When they have their heads down I help them pick it back up. Everything coach tells me to do i do 110%.I'm a easy going and funny person but when I get on the court that changes. I play every game like it's my last.
As a 8th grader I'm on the principal honor roll and next year as a 9th grader I'm going to try to be on the superintendent honor roll. In high school I want to make all state and hopefully win a state championship. In college I would like to play for a good team and win a national championship. As of right now I don't know what I want to major in but in a few years I should know. I want to play all four year in college and get a education.
Basketball is my life and I have to take advantage of the opportunities I get in life. After college I have dreams of playing in the NBA and being one of the best players.
