Playing AAU travel basketball for four years, playing for my middle school basketball team, and currently playing for my high school’s varsity basketball team as a sophomore have all made me into the player that I am today. Experience in playing in camps from the likes of the Michael Jordan Flight School and the Roy Williams North Carolina basketball camp have helped me grow as a player as well. Though I have had lots of success with lots of different teams I have played for in my life, I have my fair share of struggles and hardship to overcome with certain teams as well. As much as I would like to have as much success as possible, a couple bad games or a bad season can lots of times be more beneficial to me in the long run. When I encounter adversity, it has taught me to be persistent, to work hard, and to always keep my head up to ultimately persevere and overcome whatever challenge I face. Dealing with challenges in sports not only helps me grow as a player, but as a person as well. Outside of sports, one of my own goals I am striving to achieve is to attend a four-year college or university. In order to work towards this goal, I realize that I must prioritize my academic studies and schoolwork to stay focused in the classroom, so that I can achieve this goal and others in hopes of ensuring a future for my life within sports and outside of sports.
