My name is Charlie Schroeder and I am currently in 8th grade and live in a small, rural town in Nebraska. It is my dream to play Division I college basketball and I am committed to doing what it takes to make that dream come true. My mother was a full scholarship student-athlete at Syracuse University where she played women's basketball and my dad was a player on the two-time reserve national championship college intramural men's basketball team. They have taught me a great work ethic and helped me understand what it takes to make it to Division I. I have always loved sports and being a leader for the teams I am on. I used to show horses and qualified for the world championships in several classes. Horses taught me that you have to have a strong, patient leader to make something successful.
I currently play tightend and receiver on my 8th grade football team and last year I was the anchor leg of our 4x400 and 4X100 track team. I also ran the 400 and high jumped. This summer I attended Camp Dudley and learned lacrosse. Our team at camp went undefeated and won all four sport championships, which hadn't been done in over 50 years!
Both of my parents are veterinarians and I get to help in their offices and out on farm calls a lot! Although I like animals, I think I would like to pursue human medicine (pediatrician) or dental school.
Thank you for looking at my profile!
