Personal Statement

I've competed in the game of basketball since a very young age, and I knew it was the sport for me from the start. I have had many set backs in my career, but have always found a way to persevere through it. Perseverance, holding everyone accountable, and always being someone my team can count on as a leader both on and off the court is what puts me ahead of others. I also believe that not only my skills, but also my basketball IQ and work ethic make it so I can make an immediate impact on any program at the collegiate level.

I've had many good things happen in my career as well, including a 22-3 season and a KS Class 5A State Championship in 2017, so I know what success feels like and also what it takes to achieve it. I will try to push my teammates to make them the best player they can be so they and the program can have success. I pride myself on being the best player, teammate, and person I can be everyday and that's why I am a good fit for your program!

  • Pre-Christmas Junior Season
  • 12/02/16 to 12/16/16
  • To start my junior season with Shawnee Heights HS, I helped my team to a 4-1 record in our pre-winter break schedule. In those 5 games, I made 1 start and was the 6th man in the rest, helping my team in a variety of ways. I led my team in "hustle stats" in multiple games, and averaged 8.4 points on 52% shooting from behind the arc and 70% from the free throw line.
  • Camp/Event
  • Great American Shootout- Midwest
  • 7/07/16 to 7/10/16
  • At the GASO- Midwest, I had a very good weekend. Over the 5 games we played, I averaged 22.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 62% from 2 PT range (13/21), 55% from 3 PT range (24/44), and 83% from the free throw line (10/12). The scoring average of 22.8 included games of 31 & 32 points, along with a 13, 15, and 23 point game. Along with my offensive numbers, I only turned the ball over 0.8 times a game and played solid defense. Attached is a link to an article written by TopekaHoops.com about my weekend--http://topekahoops.com/features/2018-sg-white-has-big-weekend-at-gaso-midwest/
  • Camp/Event
  • KC Hardwood Classic
  • 5/21/16 to 5/22/16
  • My team and I went 5-1 on the weekend on our way to a Gold Bracket Championship. On the weekend, I averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists, along with 1.3 steals and 1.3 turnovers per game. I shot 50% from the 3, 38% from the 2, and 70% from the free throw line.
  • Camp/Event
  • Great American Shootout
  • 4/22/16 to 4/24/16
  • Over the weekend, my team and I played 5 games and ended up compiling a 5-0 record on our way to winning the championship. In the championship game, I had 18 points on 7/9 shooting (3/5 from 3PT range) to go along with 8 rebounds in a 49-42 victory. Throughout the weekend I averaged 12.4 points while shooting above 50% from 3PT range, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists along with hitting many clutch shots in close victories.
  • Camp/Event
  • Midwest Live
  • 4/15/16 to 4/17/16
  • My team and I went 2-2 on the weekend in Des Moines, with one of the victories by just 1 point. In that game, I hit a 3 pointer with just 45 seconds left that would end up being the game winning bucket. On the weekend, I averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
