Matthew Vincent '13 Recruiting Profile

Hey Coaches, I'm glad I have the oppritunity to write a more personalized note to describe myself instead of just using paper and pictures. I am from a small town in the middle of Kansas where I have found it hard to really branch out athletically. Standing at 5 foot 10 inches, and weighing 165 pounds I have found myself competing with bigger players at times, but I don't believe that size matters as much as heart. Heart is something that my father always told me seperated true winners from the other guys, and I belive and apply this in everything that I do. The best characteristic about me is that I want to be the best I can be, and will work my tail off for it. This work ethic applies in games and practice, I never give up and hate, hate, hate, hate, hate to lose!! I am involved is a few extra-curricular acivities. I have been on the student council for 3 years, Leadership comittee, and was on the forensics team (acting) where I competed nationally-Forensics is where I get my outgoing, funny personality, which helps me relate to people. College, for me, is a place to better my education, but since I love sports what better way is there to help pay my college expenses?? To me there is no way. I have always dreamed of playing in front of a roaring crowd in any of my sports football, basketball, wrestling or baseball. I have played football since the fourth grade, and placed 9th in the nation at my 11 year old punt, pass and kick. I wrestled for 7 years, and placed 3rd and   4th at state my last two years. If I were to handpick my college it would be fairly large, and within, or close to, the surrounding states of Kansas. My main goal is to get through college and to do something related to sports, and most of all have loads of fun in the process!
