Middle school basketball has been a significant highlight of my basketball career, this far. Not only has it been the most fun experience I’ve ever had in my life, during these two years of basketball my school team won the school regional basketball tournaments in 2016 & 2017. What was more challenging was the second year of school basketball, we were put into a different league and competed with the larger schools in our area. It was this year that I think I grew as a person, as a student and as an athlete because it taught me how to persevere, keep working through hard situations, and to lead my team through wins and losses.
I have been playing organized basketball ever since I was 7 years old and playing competitive basketball since the 5th grade. Over these years I have learned important skills of life that also help me be a better student athlete. I have learned and I continue to develop such skills as leadership, a good work ethic, responsibility and commitment. As I continue to grow, I know I will always use these skills. They will help me grow as a person, and as a basketball player throughout high school and college. I plan to work hard and will continue to be committed to school in order to achieve above standard grades throughout high school. I understand that this will give me a greater chance of getting recruited by a good school, provide me the opportunity to continue to play basketball and get a solid education. As I focus on school, I will always have basketball as my passion. I will continue to train, develop and improve my skills using every tool available. This commitment and dedication will help me be a better person and basketball player.
