I am Dylan King, class of 2011, a 6'6" shooting guard from Maui, Hawaii. As a sophomore, I was selected First Team All League and was the team's leading scorer. In my junior season, I led both the team and the league in scoring, averaging over 18 points a game, in spite of limited playing time due to scoring differential. I was named Conference Player of the Year, First Team All League and received an Honorable Mention for the All-State Team. In July 2010, I competed at the Double Pump West Coast All-Star Camp where I was selected for the Honorable Mention All-Star Team. I was also named the All-Star game MVP at the Maui Sports Academy Camp in June. As a senior and team captain, I averaged 22.4 points per game, repeated as Conference Player of the Year, and First Team All League. I believe that my continued drive to improve my skills and competiveness are two of the greatest assets that I bring to a team. Some of my other strengths include a high basketball IQ, my outside shooting and mid-range game, my length on defense, and my athleticism on slashes to the rim. One of my primary goals is to gain weight and to develop greater strength by the end of my senior year. My ideal college experience is to join a successful or developing program where I can help the team in whatever role the coach assigns me. The school that would be a perfect fit for me would combine a great basketball program with great academics. I am interested in getting a bachelor degree in business or marketing and a master in sports management. I attend a very challenging and rigorous college prep school in Maui. My school has a great reputation for developing student's academic skills and I feel that I am well prepared for college and the challenges facing a student-athlete. I enjoy strong reading comprehension, am a very good writer, and have learned how to successfully manage my time. The first semester of my senior year has been my most successful academically, earning a 3.2 GPA. I am looking for a school where I can be successful, both in the classroom and on the court, and realize that my college decision impacts not just the next four years but the remainder of my life. I look forward to hearing from college coaches who feel that I would be a good fit for their school and program.
