Personal Statement

Hard work pays off. Basketball is a team sport, I'm willing to work hard to help my team in any role chosen for me. Whether it be on the court or on the sidelines cheering my team on. I love the team atmosphere.  Last but not least I'm humble and I'm very interested in getting an education and learning the game of life and basketball on a higher level.

  • Congratulations! ScoutsFocus Elite 80 Evaluation Daryl Hopkins a 6'0 170 lb 2017 prospect of Madison County HS (FL), is a nice player with scholarship potential.Daryl has a decent size for position in addition to possessing length that is a reliable asset to individual and team defense. The prospect showed great handle, and is able to put great pressure on the defense. Daryl really sees the floor at a high level in terms of passing the ball. We would like to see continued work passing with either hand and creating misdirection to the defense . The Player shoots the ball with a high level of consistency with time and space. We recommend making at least 500 game speed shots a day in a variety of circumstances from all three levels (floaters, mid range, three both off the screens and off the bounce.Daryl has a very good shot selection and does a solid job of knowing what shots are in space and in rhythm. College coaches will be happy with this prospects selection. The prospect can finish at the basket with some consistency and would like to see continued improvement and development finishing through contact whether in practice against physical competition or with cushion dummies. The prospect defends the ball and help side very effectively proving to be a very good asset defensively. The talent has built a good foundation in terms of strength but should continue to get stronger to really develop their body for the next level going against fully developed opponentsand has a decent frame that we expect to really develop.Dar yl has a very good motor proving to be one of the better ones at campand displayed a high level of toughness that coaches will covet. The talented player has very good athletic ability for size and age and would like to see continued development in speed/agility and vertical development. Jump rope drills are a great full body conditioning drill we highly recommend if not ready for a rigorous weight-training program. Daryl does a good job of understanding the game and usually makes the right dec ision. We would like to see continued development in learning the game by watching practices and games at every level. Defensively we would like to see continued improvement both on and off the ball in addition to always seeing ball and man. We would emphasize staying lower on both ends of the court. In addition, we would like you to continue learning how to play without the ball as most players only have the ball a max of 10% of the game (even less if you have ball stoppers on your team). We are excited to monitor this prospect's development in the future and would like to see continued development in all areas we rated as needing improvement to fully maximize potential. ScoutsFocus and our college coaching staff believes Daryl has scholarship potential with continued hard work and development both in the classroom and on the hardwood. Can play the 1. AAU Team: . They were done by active small college coaches and our NCAA certified scouting staff. They are in no way, shape or form a precise science. The rankings are used only as a guide for college coaches to evaluate players for their particular level. Players have been ranked high and not reached their potential and players have been ranked low and turned out exceptional (Steph Curry, Damien Lillard etc). We've been right a large portion of the time, but understand it's simply not possible to get every player 100% right based on a one or two day evaluations. A player's work ethic and heart is the most difficult thing for any scout to measure and are often times the factor for who makes it and who doesn't.
