My name is Kyle King and I am a Senior at Cardinal Newman Catholic High School in Santa Rosa CA. I have been playing basketball for 4 years. Basketball is my pride and joy. When I was first introduced to the game in the 8th grade I fell in love with it. Ever since then I have dedicated my life to becoming a better basketball player and dreamed of playing college basketball. I was offered a spot on the Varsity team as a sophomore but chose to play JV instead. I was very happy with my decision because of the amount of playing time and leadership I inherited. The summer after my sophomore year I played my first AAU season with North Coast Express Hoopsters and had a very successful season with them. Then came my junior year season where I lead my team to the state tournament and lost on the road. I was selected 1st Team All League and 2nd Team All Empire. This summer I played with the same AAU program and traveled to Los Angeles in April for the Double Pump Hoopfest Tournament, also to the bay area in May for the Dream Courts Tournament in Hayward and the North Coast Express Spring Classic in Oakland. I attended the Hoop Mountain Basketball Camp in San Diego July 1-3 and then traveled to Texas for the Great American Shootout Tournament July 18 -22. I drive three days a week to practice with my AAU team in Oakland which is an hour and a half drive each way. When I am not playing basketball games I am working hard in the gym, running on the track, and improving my ball handling skills. I have played power forward most of my career due to me being the biggest on the team, but I proved to my coaches that I am more effective at the small forward position. During the summer I play mainly shooting guard. I have a quick first step which helps me blow by defenders and attack the basket with ease. My jumpshot has improved a lot and I can now knock down shots anywhere. My strenghts are driving the ball to the basket and playing great fundametal defense. I was awarded best defender at Five Star Camp in San Diego last summer and was awarded best defender at the same camp this year on August 6-9. I feel i can defend against the best and love to lockdown topnplayers. Another strength of mine is rebounding the ball and pushing the ball up the floor. I pride myself on being the hardest worker on the floor and one of the strongest and best conditioned. I am working on a highlight film of my junior year and my senior highlight video will show that I am constantly improving. My dream is to play at a Division 1 school where I can get a good education and become a great asset to the team. Thank you for looking at my profile.
