Russell Jamerson '17 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to attend a college that would be the best fit for me as well as ensuring that I am the best fit for the institution. I desire to get a good education while doing what I love to do which is play basketball. The talents I posses that I feel makes me good candidate for any team is that I have an extensive basketball IQ, I am versatile with the ability to play multiple positions from the Point to the Power Forward. My best attributes would be my speed, the ability to attack the rim off the dribble,  mid range shooting and getting my teammates open when I drive and kick. I take pride in stopping my man on defense and I always look for opportunities to take charges. Overall, I'm a great teammate with commendable sportsmanship.  I consider my team to be family,  I encourage my team to harness their passion for the game from within. My love for the game is contagious. I love who I am on the court and I am excited for the opportunities in my future that may give me the platform to play this game for as long as I can. I am currently an incoming senior at St.Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, CA.  St.Ignatius or SI as it is commonly referred to, is an academically and athletically competitive school with a passionate focus on community, faith and paying it forward.  The values  that my school has provided me is a huge part of who I am today. Though academics in a rigorous environment still posses some challenges for me, I excel in life lessons outside of the classroom. I am disciplined enough to know that if I continue to work hard I can only get better, I am coach-able with a huge thirst for knowledge.   I am tenacious, resilient and determined to not only be the first of my family to go to college but to be great.
