Personal Statement

Basketball has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. Since I have played it competitively since first grade, I feel that basketball has influenced the way I live my life in countless ways. Through basketball, I have formed friendships, learned valuable life lessons, and improved my personality. I always feel at home when I have a basketball in my hand.

Playing basketball has also taught me the values of hard work and time management. Because of this, I push myself off the court to succeed in the hardest and most rigorous classes offered by the school. It also lends to my accomplishments in the other activities I enjoy including marching band and volleyball.

I seek a college that will advance my education at a higher level, while I will make positive contributions to a basketball team in any way that I can. Besides my skills and talent in the game, my determination and commitment to the team will impact the ones around me on and off the court.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
