In my 17 years of living all I've had was God, school, sports, family, and the drive to be successful. Going to college furthering my education and playing collegiate basketball has always been a dream of mine, now its finally becoming reality. I've been playing the game of basketball for 11 years I've come to have a great understanding and respect for this game. I started playing basketball at the Boys and Girls Club and I was always chosen to be apart of all of the all star teams at the end of each season. When i was 12 years old i began playing travel basketball with the LBA Dawgs we traveled up and down the California Coast competing amongst some of the best competition. My 8th grade year i joined Lompoc Hoopsters along with playing for the Dawgs. While playing with the Hoopsters we were able to win big tournaments such as the UCSB March Madness Tournament. In High School i was given the opportunity to play for more exposed and experienced travel teams down South in the LA area and enabled me to experience a higher competition of basketball. I traveled to Vegas to play in Nike Big Foot Tournaments,The Fab 48, Pump N' Run, and a league hosted by Compton Magic. Some of my strengths consist of having great ball handling skills, being coachable, a great floor general, scoring at will, playing solid defense, being a leader on and off the court, and having a all around high motor and strong work ethic. I believe in teamwork ,motivating others, and having the gift to lead and act under pressure. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win. My education has become extremely vital to me after realizing how i didn't take it serious goofed off and allowed the loss of loved ones and issues at home to falter my capabilities Freshman and Sophomore year. Since then I've taken accountability, recognized my faults and made a promise to myself to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, as of now i have a 3.4 however, my goal is to graduate with a 4.0 GPA! Knowing it's going to be challenging I'm up for this challenge. Through studying, attending tutoring, doing extra credit i will achieve this challenge.
My dreams and aspirations in life is to make basketball a career either in the NBA, or Overseas. as my mom would say " Dont put all your egs in one basket" My back up plan is to venture into business preferably somewhere in the sports field whether its starting my own, being apart of a start up, or possibly being a Sports Agent or Sports Attorney! In college I'm going to major in Business/Sports Management or Kinesiology.
Since Freshman year I've accomplished earning a spot on varsity as PG i was Honorable Mention after my Freshman year, and since then I've been Honored as an LPL All League Selection. During my Football career YFL-Junior year i played QB, my Junior year on varsity we made it to the CIF Southern Section SemiFinals until losing to State Champs Chaminade we were League Champions and held a County Record with a 32 game winning streak i was unable to play my senior year due to my mother and i relocating , when we moved back i was not able to play. I also lettered in Track triple jumping 40ft plus and Varsity Golf shooting mid 90's. I played in a Men's Basketball League it was fun and very competitive it taught me a lot for example being aggressive, not shying away from contact, and never look for the call when going to the basket.
I would like to attend a College that can offer me a great education toward preparing me for my future and that will impact me in positive ways. I want a challenging environment not only on the court but overall in every aspect. After my College career i want to be headed into a career knowing my coaching staff, teammates, and teachers pushed me to reach my full potential and prepared me to achieve my goals...
