During my 7th grade year, I knew that I not only wanted to be a college student, but a collegiate student-athlete. During my time spent on athletic teams, since ago 6, as well as, playing trumpet, since 5th grade, in every school band opportunity presented to me & qualifying for & sitting 3rd chair in the All Area Honors Band in VA, I've developed a thirst for competition, comradery, setting goals, achieving them, raising the bar & going after my next set of goals.
For me, being part of a team, means more than just showcasing my athletic talents. It means being part of something bigger than myself, being one part of a whole! I feel this train of thought is what drives me to want to enter a Military based college, become an Officer in the United States Marine Corps & continue my education with the military from there.
Learning from my Football, Wrestling & Track & Field Coaches & Teammates and, when possible, being able to guide & mentor fellow Teammates is an important part of the whole experience for me. I believe that every player on the team is an equally important link in our chain. And, since I fully believe that the ability to excel at the physical aspects of athletics begins in the mind of the athlete, I find it imperative to have that connection within myself & with my fellow Teammates & Coaches.
Strength of mind, body and spirit are important to me. I work hard in the classroom, on the field, in my community & at home with my family. I am number 4 of 6 children. Thanks to the love, support, guidance & sometimes tough love I receive everyday from my parents & 5 siblings, I am growing into a young man who I am confident will make them proud.
