As early as I can remember, I've always loved football. It is a passion of mine that I have pursued over the last 5 years. As a young kid, I played baseball and basketball but was too young to play football. Finally, I practiced and tried out for football while at Great Bridge Middle School in the 7th and 8th grades (2011 & 2012). I made the team both times. I then attended Grassfield High School's training sessions during my freshman and sophomore years. Although I didn't make the team, I continued to try out and finally made the varsity team as a junior in 2015 and will be on the team this season (2016).
I also realized during my junior year that my grades are an important factor as well. I've successfully worked to pulled my grades up. I believe this shows my stamina and willingness to push myself even when the odds may not be in my favor. As I've heard recently, I have "grit." The ability to stay the course to achieve my goals--getting a college education while playing collegiate football.
