When I was 9, I started playing recreational football. It took me a while, but I’ve grown to love the sport. Now, football is my life. I started as an unskilled offensive tackle, but my coaches taught me about skill, determination, and teamwork. I quickly became a strong Offensive Tackle and have moved to the other side of the ball, also finding success as a Defensive End.
I have aspirations to play football in college and hopefully make it to the NFL. In addition to football, I’d like to study Sports Science. Since my life is centered around football, studying Sports Science will help me get into a profession where I can still be involved with the sport if I ever stop playing. I have been told I am a natural-born leader with a successful mindset. My coaches know they can rely on me to show respect both on and off the field, not only to the coaching staff but to my teammates, as well. Being a team captain has taught me leadership skills and responsibility. My teammates know that I always have their back when it's needed.
I always want to keep my head and my heart in the game, so I am careful to minimize distractions and steer clear of activities and choices that may affect my ability to keep playing.
