Dallas Gomez '21 Recruiting Profile

As I consider why I will use sports or athletics to go to college, I think of what my parents went through to reach their goals. They are my inspiration in everything I do. The values of hard work and commitment are key attributes that drive me. My parents have always involved me in team sports to build relationships and a commitment to succeed for someone other than just myself. I have always been a natural leader and this is what led me to want to be a quarterback. In the 8th grade I transferred to a new school because we moved. I knew I had the skills to compete, but I also knew I would have to earn the respect of the guys on the team as a leader in order to have them accept me if I won the starting role. Through the summer and school camps, I worked hard as a classmate and teammate and built relationships that helped me make the transition to the starting quarterback and team acceptance.

I feel that I will have to remain at the top of my class in grades and maintain my A average if I want to keep playing sports in high school and college. My goal is to graduate college and earn a degree to set me up for a successful future. This is why I feel I can use my athletic abilities to help pay for school my parents may not be able to afford.
